If your child likes to grab breakfast on the way to class each morning it is best they arrive closer to 7:15. We are having a few late drop offs and are eating when we are starting our day. It is best to finish eating before we begin our learning. Thank you!
We will be reading from a few more chapter books this spring. We will be reading “My Fathers Dragon” and “Frog and Toad are Friends''. If your child would like to have their own copy to read from please use the links below! We will be gathering a class set for all to read from but if they want their own feel free to purchase.
For the month of March we will work on problem solving! This is such a big stepping stone as they gain the independence needed for second grade. We encourage the students so find answers and solutions to problems and situations.
A Look at Next Week:
ELA
We are about to start a very favorite read of the year, “My Father’s Dragon”.This is a 10 chapter book about the adventures of Elmer Elevator on Tangerine island. He encounters dangerous animals and finds ways to help them as he is trying to find the dragon. I look forward to this book every spring. The students will have many chances to read aloud to the class, we look forward to hearing those loud and proud reading voices!
MATH
All students rocked our graphing unit! Up next… Comparing lengths and measurement.
SCIENCE
We are working on our ecosystem mobiles, identifying and creating pieces of the project to represent components of an ecosystem.
SOCIAL STUDIES
We will be studying needs and wants as well as earning and spending.
We hope you all have a sunny, happy, restful, and FUN spring break!
Ms. Reger and Mrs. Rodriguez
