A few notes:
Spirit week is next week, YAY!
Monday- Career Day, dress for what you want to be when you grow up!
Tuesday- Red Day, from your head to your toes dress in red.
Wednesday- Wacky Wednesday, mismatch, inside out, and silly wear.
Thursday- Crazy Hair Day, colors, crazies, bows all over, the sky is the limit!
Friday- PJ Day!
We will be reading from a few more chapter books this spring. We will be reading “My Fathers Dragon” and “Frog and Toad are Friends''. If your child would like to have their own copy to read from please use the links below! We will be gathering a class set for all to read from but if they want their own feel free to purchase.
LOOKING FOR WIRE HANGERS! Please send in a wire hanger for your child to use for an upcoming project. We will need hangers by Tuesday, March 2nd.
For the month of March we will work on problem solving! This is such a big stepping stone as they gain the independence needed for second grade. We encourage the students so find answers and solutions to problems and situations.
A Look at Next Week:
ELA
They really impressed us with their interest and creativity with poetry! Next week at all about Dr. Seuss!
MATH
Our last week of graphing will focus on bar graphs.
SCIENCE
We are officially starting a new unit…. ECOSYSTEMS! The students will use the wire hangers to create mobiles that show the elements in an ecosystem. Following spring break we will start our first ecosystem study.
SOCIAL STUDIES
Onto a new unit, economics starting with goods and services!
