A few notes:
Mrs. Rodriguez has been doing some great community builders with our class. The students get a chance every morning to share their thoughts about various questions! For example the students were able to participate in a buddy up sharing what their superpower would be if they had one!
WOW how special last Friday was! Thank you families for sending in some extra special Valentines for your child to find.
We will be reading from a few more chapter books this spring. We will be reading “My Fathers Dragon” and “Frog and Toad are Friends''. If your child would like to have their own copy to read from please use the links below! We will be gathering a class set for all to read from but if they want their own feel free to purchase.
LOOKING FOR WIRE HANGERS! Please send in a wire hanger for your child to use for an upcoming project. We will need hangers by Tuesday, March 2nd.
For the month of February we are working on showing actions of INITIATIVE! This means we are creating plans to make positive choices and carrying them out with success. We have brainstormed ideas on how we show initiative at home and school. Here on campus we can clean up trash when we see it, add more details to our work or show more than one way to solve, and finding solutions for small problems prior to asking for help.
A Look at Next Week:
ELA
The students LOVED our bee week! From pictures, to time lapse videos and learning about all types of honeybees, it was great to see connections and excitement. The students also learned how important bees are to our planet! Next week we will be diving into a poetry unit. The students will learn about some famous poets and have a chance to create their own poems.
MATH
What fun tally charts were! The students are not only making graphs but they are also analyzing and creating their own. Next week we will focus on picture graphs.
SCIENCE
We are officially starting a new unit…. ECOSYSTEMS! The students will use the wire hangers to create mobiles that show the elements in an ecosystem. Following spring break we will start our first ecosystem study.
SOCIAL STUDIES
We have one more week of inventors left!
Thanks for staying connected!
Ms. Reger and Mrs. Rodriguez
