Save the Dates!
April 2nd- No School
A few notes:
The blog this week is short and sweet. We are back into the swing of things and ready for our fourth quarter!
Thank you for signing your child’s report card envelope and sending back.
If your child likes to grab breakfast on the way to class each morning it is best they arrive closer to 7:15. We are having a few late drop offs and are eating when we are starting our day. It is best to finish eating before we begin our learning. Thank you!
We will be reading from a few more chapter books this spring. We will be reading “Frog and Toad are Friends” next week. If your child would like to have their own copy to read from please use the links below! We will be gathering a class set for all to read from but if they want their own feel free to purchase.
For the month of March we will work on problem solving! This is such a big stepping stone as they gain the independence needed for second grade. We encourage the students so find answers and solutions to problems and situations.
A Look at Next Week:
ELA
The students are loving reading from chapter books and traveling along with Elmer Elevator. We will continue with our story next week.
MATH
We have been working with various math tools as we compare lengths. Next week we will use nonstandard units to measure.
SCIENCE
We are working on our ecosystem mobiles, identifying and creating pieces of the project to represent components of an ecosystem.
SOCIAL STUDIES
The students have done a great job identifying needs and wants. Up next… saving and earning for our needs and wants in life.
We will continue with our routines and expectations. We want to be second grade ready! Thank you for reading!
Ms. Reger and Mrs. Rodriguez
