WAY TO GO ON HOMEWORK! It was so exciting to see the pride in
each and every student as they turned in their nightly homework. As a class we
show how reliable we are when everyone completes the tasks at home.
·
Our Core Value for the month of February will be INTEGRITY. We show actions of complete honesty even when
no one else knows the truth but us. This
is a valuable trait that all children and adults should carry as we live and
work together. I hope to see a little
integrity in us all this month!

Check our DOJO story and your messages to review your conference
slot. Please be on time and ready to
hear all about how wonderful your child is!

A look at next week…
Spalding
We
continue to work in our Spalding notebooks. As we write and mark we are working
on letter formations as well as consistent handwriting, ensuring that our books
are uniform and neat. Please be sure the books come to and from school daily.
As we read and write in class we are taking the time to recognize and implement
our phonograms. Room 19 will be full of
strong readers and writers by the year end!
Reading
We
will continue the adventures with Frog and Toad as we read a variety of these classic
books. We will read with fluency as we
focus on comprehension and writing response opportunities. The students will have many opportunities to
write short personal narratives about their life experiences. I look forward to reading and writing together!
Math
Measurement
has been fun! We will start addition within 1,000 as we add 3 digit numbers
without regrouping. This will be a process that takes practice as we work
within place values and addition within 10 to complete a very large sum. Please
review the nightly addition and subtraction facts to ensure accuracy. Thanks!
Social
Studies
We
have one more week of Mesopotamia lessons as we learn about their rules,
leader, and contributions.
Science
We
LOVE the rain forest! Next week will be all about the layers of the rain forest
and the special plants and animals found within the special layers.
I
look forward to seeing you next week,
Ms. Reger
