Reminders:
·
The students are
earning Class Dojo points for a craft party as we will be doing “melty beads”
as the kids call it. I look forward to the party after our hard work!
·
February is our
month to show INTEGRITY! This valued moral shines through with academic achievement but I believe goes well beyond that. Students will intrinsically feel the rewards
of doing what is right with honest intent.
In the hallway, during testing, when conversing with friends as well as
after school when study work at home needs to be done. Please take a moment to talk about having
integrity with your child. I look
forward to seeing these actions take place here at school. If you have any stories of students showing
INTEGRITY at home share them with me on Class Dojo!
·
Our annual Marshall Science Fair is in February. All students 3-5 will have a project to
display, every year we are blown away with their discoveries. First grade will also have a chance to get
involved as we complete a class project.
I am thinking we will be experimenting with weather or rocks. Details to follow.
·
We are looking for Clorox and baby wipes for our class. If you
could send in a tub or two it would be greatly appreciated. We usually clean a couple times a week to
prevent the spreading of germs.
Save the Dates:
·

Next Week:
Language Arts
Our class will be finishing up their first chapter book studies
next week. I look forward to our happy ending!
The students will finish their unit with a comprehension quiz. It has been finding reading with the
students!
Math
Minor switch up, I jumped ahead a unit, we will not be working on
geometry. Instead, we will be working on
numbers and base ten. We will be
breaking down our numbers to 100 as we understand the tens and ones that
compose numbers. This involves many math
tools and dialog. At home you could
easily build numbers with dimes and pennies!
Science
The experiments and inquiry conversations that have been taking
place during science are impressive! We
are still working on our balance and motion unit as they shift their studies to
more motion based.
Social Studies
Lady Liberty will be our focus next week. From her creation to the assembly in the
United States it will be so very interesting!
Congrats Brayden for earning our Organization Award!
-Ms. Reger and Miss. Kelly
