Weekly Update for week of October 9th

Reminders:

·      Mustang Gallop money is due October 18^th. Please send in then. I was beyond impressed with their enthusiasm and hard work during the event. They looked GREAT!   

·      I will see you next week at parent teacher conferences. EARLY RELEASE Monday and Tuesday at 12:25 and Wednesday at 11:10!

·      NO homework next week but please check backpacks on Monday for lots of important papers!  

·      Our Core Value for October is Enthusiasm! I am looking for students who are eager to share, help and show excitement for their learning. And what a perfect month to show enthusiasm as we are learning some pretty cool things. From Egypt to literature studies, I am enthusiastic for their enthusiasm.

·      Monday- Wednesday, October 9-11- Marshall Clothing exchange, come by the science lab during the day to shop

Next Week:

Language Arts

Mummies in the Morning has been a hit! We have enjoyed reading about Jack and Annie and their Egyptian adventure.  Next week we will wrap up the book, or literature packets and take a comprehension quiz.   

Math

Wrapping up our first unit of adding and now subtracting within 10.  Next week we will continue with the usual strategies, number bonds, picture form and number sentences as they strengthen their math skills.  

Science

Our students will switch one time next week as they are working on the mummification process! How cool! The students will be unwrapping their mummies!  Ask your child about their discoveries. 

Social Studies

The students absolutely blew me away with their King Tut illustrations.  Next week we will have one lesson that focuses the influences of his power.
