Reminders:
·
Mustang Gallop money is
due October 18th. Please send in then. Every dollar raised is SO
helpful to our school community.
·
Our monthly school site council
meeting will take place on Tuesday, October 17th from 4:30-5:30. At this meeting we will talk
about the STEAM programs that are taking place here at Marshall. Our RTI team
will also present about how we are monitoring growth and reaching individual
academic needs. I encourage any parent that has the time to come please do
so. I will also be in attendance.
· THANK you for your time and support during our parent teacher
conferences. I love hearing about how your child loves and enjoys learning in
room 8. It was also nice to touch base with each family as I informed them of
personal strengths and areas of growth. Overall, what a fabulous start to our
first grade year! I am very proud of their growth, effort and love for
learning.
· Check HW folders on Monday for updated HW routines (if
talked about at conferences) and a memo about our upcoming parent night!
·
Our Core Value for
October is Enthusiasm! I am looking for students who are eager to share, help
and show excitement for their learning. And what a perfect month to show
enthusiasm as we are learning some pretty cool things. From Egypt to literature
studies, I am enthusiastic for their enthusiasm.

Next Week:
Language Arts
I am SO excited to get books
into the hands of the students! Mr. Coe generously purchased copies of books to
read from. Just before we start our literature sets we will be reading the
Native American folktale “Why the Owl Has Big Eyes”. Following up with components of myths and
story elements.
Math
Wrapping up Module 1 with adding
and subtracting within 10. Keep working on the math packets for HW!
Science
Ms. Shaw is going to kick off
her new human body unit.
Social Studies
Next week the students will
design a sarcophagus and find interesting details about tombs and mummies.
Again, it was great to see all
my families over the past week. Have a safe, restful and happy fall break!

Reger
