Here
and there:
·
What a busy week! From our studies to showing enthusiasm and
respect we are learning and growing. I
enjoy all our days at school and hope your child does as well.
·
Next week, no school on Monday. Please take the time to thank or
think of a Veteran as there are many sacrifices they make to keep us safe and
free.
·
For the month of November we will be working on showing enthusiasm!
It is one of my very favorite, if we show interest and excitement in
everything we do life becomes a little more sweet. I am looking for students to
share connections, ask questions, and always take any situation as an opportunity
to learn something new! I have already
seen quite a few students take on this Core Value with such excitement. This
month is going to be great!
·
Please be sure your child is on time and ready to learn.
·
I appreciate the notes and messages ahead of time when there is
a change in transportation. It makes a big difference!
·
WOW! Our class donated 95 canned food items. Thank you for your generosity
as we help those who are less fortunate.
·
Report cards will go home on Wednesday.
A look at next week…
Spalding
Next
week will be a review week. Do not expect books to come home but instead review
papers. This is a great time for us to reinforce those tricky rules and
patterns.
Reading
Cinderella
stories from around the world will continue. The students have enjoyed
recognizing magic elements, royal figures, problems, and the happily ever after
endings. Next week we will be reading the African and Egyptian versions.
Math
Now
that we have a solid start with adding 2 digit numbers we will be adding with
regrouping. The week will start with manipulatives but will transition to more efficient
strategies.
Science
Next
week we will be doubling up on our Native Americans unit.
History
The
students made real connections as we talked about our own explorations. We will
continue with our Native American unit as we study cultural beliefs and
traditions. This week is all about the Pueblo people.
Enjoy
the long weekend with friends and family,
Ms.
Reger
