Weekly post for the week of April 9th!

Reminders:

o   We have an eventful yet exciting week ahead. Please carefully read all updates!
o   Please complete the new homework routines with you child. We are starting to refine as well as challenge our reading skills as the end of the year quickly approaches. Some students will be working on sight word list books, others on fluency passages and a few reading chapter books. How exciting! The support at home is valued and crucial as we make these last couple of months productive.
o   On April 18th we will be taking our first field trip of the year to BEARIZONA! It is going to be a great day. Permission slips were sent home last Monday. We will be looking for a few chaperones; it will be a first come first serve basis for a reduced adult rate.  Details are in your child’s homework folder. If you would like to chaperone, please send in by Friday the 13th. No late forms will be accepted.
o   Our Core Value for the month of April will be PERSEVERANCE! I would like the students to persevere through their school work even when they might feel like they want to give up.  Also, persevering though the school days as our energy levels may decrease.
o   Next week snacks will be Matiaya, Owen and Rio! We look forward to healthy snacks to fuel our brains!
o   Thanks again for reading, being aware of what your child is up to at school only helps with school success!

What an important skill we have been working on, telling time. Miss Kelly has done a great job with this skill. From making their own clocks, to partner work and games the students are mastering the skill of telling time to nearest half hour.  The time work continues next week

We have concluded our map and geography unit. Onto goods and services to wrap up the year!
