Weekly Post for the Week of April 16th

Reminders:

o   Prepare for yet another full reminder! We have many exciting events planned.

o   NEXT WEEK, on April 18th we will be taking our first field trip of the year to BEARIZONA! We have our chaperones and students signed and ready for the day. It is extremely important that your child arrives to school prior to 9 a.m. If they are not here by departure they will be assigned to work in another class for the day. All chaperones need to meet in our classroom at 8:40. I look forward to our adventure!

o   We spent some time this week reviewing the actions we show to make the best out of our school days. I know it is spring fever time but we have seen such a spike in poor choices. It is very sad as I know we all know better. In class we reviewed our Core Values and how they help us grow to be successful students and people. I ask that you have a conversation with your child on how they are expected to show responsibility, integrity, effort and many more qualities to get the very most out of the school days.  We want to make the most of these next couple of months, second grade is just around the corner.

o   Ms. White will be working closely with our first graders as they practice for our Frog and Toad Musical.  We read the series this year and look forward to bringing the stories to life! Your child may be assigned a main part in the play. Assignments will go home MONDAY. Please practice with your child as we prepare for the show! The Frog and Toad Family presentation will be on Thursday, May 24th at 6:00 p.m.

o   Check your child’s folder on Monday as packets about the book fair are inside. Our annual book fair is next week, all week! Your child will experience the book fair on Wednesday during our library time. Any purchases can be made with a parent before school starting at 8 and after school until 4. Please do not send in cash with your child.  Also, we have a wish list online and in your child’s homework folder as we are looking for books to add to our classroom library. Your considerations are very much appreciated!

o   We are looking for….
o   Parent Volunteers to help make/create simple costumes and props for the Frog and Toad Performance. Message me if you are interested!
