Weekly Update for March 5th

Reminders:

o   Congrats to Sophia for earning the Integrity Core Value Award! Miss. Kelly and myself would not have chosen a better candidate.  She constantly makes helpful and responsible choices even when no one is watching.  We trust and know Sophia is someone who has a strong moral compass. We are grateful for a wonderful classroom community member.
o   Please review the March snack calendar.
o   THANK YOU families for the overwhelming amount of support for our robot day.  From volunteers to supplies and being flexible with the scheduling the activity was a hit!  I hope your child came home with their robot and a huge smile. If you sent back for your R.S.V.P for the NAU slip we will transport your robot to and from you to to showcase that evening.
o   Parent teacher conferences are just around the corner. This round of conferences are not mandatory but with that being said I will be available to meet with any of my families. If you would like me to review areas of strength as well as what to improve upon and get an overall update.

Next Week:
Language Arts/ Science
Miss. Kelly will be starting a bee unit next week. She has many lessons planned from the relationship between bees and their environments, bee jobs and much more. I look forward to learning along with the children as Miss. Kelly leads the unit.

Math
We will be working with adding and subtracting 10 more and 10 less.  The students will be exposed to multiple strategies to add and subtract 10 from any number within 100.

Social Studies
Our national symbols unit has come to a close. The students have enjoyed learning about the special places within our country. It was exciting to see the connections made within the symbols. We are now onto geography! Directional instructions, reading maps, making maps as well as looking at various types of maps.

-Ms. Reger and Miss. Kelly
