Weekly Post for 02-26

Reminders:

o   We have one more week as February is our month to show INTEGRITY!  This valued moral assists with academic achievement but I believe goes well beyond that.  Students will intrinsically feel the rewards of doing what is right with honest intent.  In the hallway, during testing, we conversing with friends as well as after school when study work at home needs to be done.  Please take a moment to talk about having integrity with your child.  I look forward to seeing these actions take place here at school.  If you have any stories of students showing INTEGRITY at home share them with me on Class Dojo!
o   Thank you to all families who donated supplies for our robot afternoon. Things are looking very good. We look forward to seeing our volunteers as we get building!
o   Ask your child about our penguin science experiment. We will display our findings at the annual science fair.  It was a great time!
o   Snacks for the end of the month will be Daisuke and Dakota. We love seeing the healthy granola bars, fresh fruits and fig bars lately.  YUM!
o   The case of the flu is still spreading and hitting pretty hard. Be sure your child is washing his/ her hands regularly, getting plenty of rest and are taking their vitamins. We miss anyone who is not at school!
o   Parent teacher conferences are just around the corner. This round of conferences are not mandatory but with that being said I will be available to meet with any of my families. If you would like me to review areas of strength as well as what to improve upon and get an overall update.

We will be working with adding and subtracting 10 more and 10 less.  The students will be exposed to multiple strategies to add and subtract 10 from any number within 100.

We will be wrapping up our national monuments study with a lesson about the Liberty Bell.  The unit sure has been fun, bringing in lots of history and focusing on the special places found within our country.  The last lesson will be a short quiz.
