·
For the month of April we will practice cooperation as a
community as we learn and grow. It is so
important that we come to school each and every day with the same goals in
mind. I look forward to seeing us work
together to complete tasks during the school days!
·
Field trip day is on TUESDAY! WOOHOO! A few reminders… please be
sure your child has an all disposable sack lunch ( if you did not order one in
advance from the cafeteria), wear your Franklin shirts, and arrive on time.
·
We look forward to seeing our chaperones, Mrs. Standage and Mrs.
Bowden for the big day.
·
Please be sure your child is here and on time each and every day
to school. I have seen a spike in tardiness as well as absences. This makes it
challenging to get the most learning out of our school days. We want our last term to be the best yet, it
starts with being present!
·
Report cards will be sent home next week. Term 5 was a GREAT
one!

A look at next week…
Spalding
We
continue to work in our Spalding notebooks. As we write and mark we are working
on letter formations as well as consistent handwriting, ensuring that our books
are uniform and neat. Please be sure the books come to and from school daily.
As we read and write in class we are taking the time to recognize and implement
our phonograms. Room 19 will be full of
strong readers and writers by the year end!
Reading
Onto
our bunny stories, what fun! Next week we will read The Runaway Bunny and focus
on character relationships, vocabulary as well as parts of speech.
Math
We
will spend the week reviewing fractions and comparing numbers.
Social
Studies
We
will be looking at world maps, city maps, and land maps as we use a compass
rose to navigate. Maps are so fun and
interesting. The students will be expected to create a map of their bedroom as
well as memorize their home address.
Please review the homework during the week to see if you child needs
your assistance!
Science
We
will be reading and learning about influential scientists such as Jane Goodall,
George Washington Carver, and Amelia Earhart.

Reger
