Reminders:
·
Happy Halloween week! Just a reminder that room 8 students may wear
Halloween costumes. There will be NO masks, props or violent costumes worn to school that
day. If your child does not have a
costume to wear I encourage you to get creative with clothing at home. Your child will need to be in a comfortable
costume as they will be wearing all day.
Costumes also require no assistance from an adult during restroom times.
I look forward to the busy and exciting day together!
·
No HW on Tuesday. Have a nice time trick-or-treating and be safe!

Next Week:
Language Arts
Owl at Home was a HUGE hit! I loved watching the kids read along as
well as listening to them as they volunteered to read aloud to the class. Our
reading skills are improving daily; it is awesome to see! Next week we will be reading,
Anansi, non-fiction spider texts and will have a Friday morning full of Hansel
and Gretel. The theme of the stories seem to be fitting for next week! As we
read we will focus on fictional story elements and explanatory writing.
Math
The students have started Module 2 while adding numbers and finding
ways to make 10. We have used white
boards, counters and number bonds to help.
The strategy continues next week!
Science
The kids have LOVED the human body unit so far! Ms. Shaw will
continue with the stomach and start on their skeletal system. How fun!
Social Studies
The students have Thanksgiving lesson under them and will continue
on with the Mayflower travels and the establishment of Plymouth Rock. We are reading two Magic Treehouse books,
one fictional with Jack and Annie and supplementing with the non-fiction
version that goes along with Jack and Annie’s adventure. I look forward to continuing this unit! Be on
the lookout next week for details on a possible pie afternoon just before
Thanksgiving break.
Thanks for checking in and
have a happy weekend!
-Ms. Reger
