· I am
always looking for ways to improve my class culture and relationships with my
classroom families. I would appreciate your time completing the anonymous
online survey to help as I prepare for yet another group of amazing students
and their families.
· Orange
permission slips are due next week in order for your child to go to the park
with us on the last day of school. Please send in. We will play at the park, organize
a friendly game of kickball, feed the ducks (you may send bread), and I think a
picnic lunch would be the perfect ending! Be
sure your child has a packed lunch to take with them!
· Again,
all library books need to be turned in or lost book fees will apply. It is
important that books get returned or paid for as we keep our library stocked
with great reads!
· The Core
Value for the month of May is, showing Trustworthy behaviors.
· THANK
YOU families for your help in closing the year with such joy! I could not do
this without you! I look forward to Tuesday and our remaining weeks together!
Next Week:
Literature/ Social Studies
Charlotte’s Web was so
enjoyable! It has been a while since Ive read it myself, the kids loved the
plot and watching special relationships grow between the barn animals. The students have taken an AR test and
completed their novel study book, check it out as it will be sent home on
Monday. Next week we will be reading a
few short stories that supplement our Ancient Greece unit. Our stories will be about the strong Hercules,
swift footed Atlanta, and Prometheus who brings fire. The kids are loving learning about the myths
and history of Ancient Greece.
Science
Continuing with the
muscular, cardiovascular, and digestive systems.
Math
This is our last week of structured math time. We will wrap the
year up with odd and even numbers and a review of all concepts.
Wow,
onto our last full week of second grade! I cannot believe it, what a marvelous
year!
