Reminders:
·
The annual science
fair is quickly approaching, 2nd graders may conduct an experiment
and create a presentation. It is optional but we would love to see the curiosity
sparked at home. All projects need to
list the materials, form a hypothesis, list the steps, and have a
conclusion. Pictures and evidence are
always helpful. Projects are due February 10th.

Next Week:
Literature
We are integrating our science into our literature time, next week
will be all about the Arctic! We will be
conducting an adaptation science experiment as a class and work on our display
for the science fair. We are looking for
square boxes, please send in if you have them!
Science
As a class we will be conducting an animal adaptation experiment:
the insulating factor of blubber on arctic animals. We will be following the scientific process
as we conduct our experiment and will also display our findings on a poster
board that can be found at the science fair!
Social Studies
To kick off Black History Month we will be reading about a few
iconic and inspirational efforts, one including Jackie Robinson.
Math
As a second grade team we decided to take a small break from adding
and subtracting within 1,000. Next week
we will spend a few days on graphing and measurement.
