Reminders:
·
The 100th
day of school is on TUESDAY! I am looking forward to reflecting on the year, we
have grown in so many ways. Thank you
for the delicious snacks, if you have not sent your item in yet, please do on
Monday.
·
I have about 50% of
the parent responses thus far, one last and final push to fill out the parent
survey. PLEASE fill out if you have not already done so. I appreciate the responses as we move forward
with the year, thanks for your continued support and effort! https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/P7MGGPW
·
I received feedback
for more math support at home, we had a GREAT parent resource online at http://www.fusd1.org/Page/10086 . I will also be placing
a blue Parent News Letter in HW folder on Monday to help with strategies found
at the start of Module 5. I hope this
helps! Your support at home is extremely important!
·
The annual science
fair is quickly approaching, 2nd graders may conduct an experiment
and create a presentation. It is optional but we would love to see the curiosity
sparked at home. All projects need to
list the materials, form a hypothesis, list the steps, and have a
conclusion. Pictures and evidence are
always helpful. Projects are due February 10th.

Next Week:
Literature
·
We are integrating our science into our literature time, next week
will be all about the Arctic! From
reading and conducting experiments about the Northern Lights and Blubber to
animal adaptations. This will be a fun
week! I look forward to starting our next habitat: the tundra.
Science

As a class we will be conducting an animal adaptation experiment:
the insulating factor of blubber on artic animals. We will be following the scientific process
as we conduct our experiment and will also display our findings on a poster
board that can be found at the science fair!

·
We will be starting the studies of our next Indus Valley country,
Japan.
