Reminders:
·
The holiday season is quickly approaching, I
wish for a happy and healthy holiday season for all my families!
·
Many activities, readings, crafts, and treats
will take place over the next few weeks.
I am reaching out to families for help with this. I appreciate those who
are always willing to help out, if you have not donated items thus far this
year I highly encourage your help. I
want to make this season a festive and memorable one, but can only do that will
family help! Here is a link to a sign up genius with items and dates needed:
PLEASE check it out! :]
·
The weather has cooled down, please be sure your
child is dressed appropriately. All
clothing items should have names!
·
We have had many opportunities to show our core
value this month; cooperation. I enjoy
seeing the students work in groups to complete a task. As we work in groups we are working on our
listening and reflecting skills. We often start statements with “In my opinion…”
and “Maybe we could…”.
·
I apologize for my recent absences, I have been
included in a wedding party, the big day was last weekend! Our friends and
family had the best time together! I will be gone tomorrow as I will be running
my first half marathon this weekend!

Next Week
Literature
We started reading “Thanksgiving on Thursday” this week, and
will finish over the 2 days next week. Our story takes place during the Pilgrim
times as Jack and Anna learn about the teachings of the Native Americans and
they first feast the two parties shared.
The kids have LOVED the story!
Social Studies
Our election unit was a huge success, I heard many
respectful and truthful comments and we followed the campaign. We are double dipping with the history of
Thanksgiving through the Magic Treehouse for Literature and Social Studies.
Math
What hard working mathematicians we have! The kids have
LOVED using the vertical strategy to solve, and it has been nice to see a
concept that has been known for generations. We will continue to work on word
problems and adding within 1,000 over the next couple lessons.
Science
No science due to the short week!
