Policies for October 31st
at Marshall
October
31st is always treated as a normal and academic
school day at Marshall Magnet Elementary. Costumes will not be worn.

understanding and support in these policies this Monday.
A
Few Reminders:

Monday, October 31st will be SPIDER DAY! We will be
reading an African folktale about a tricky spider named Anasi, reading a non-fiction
text about spiders, Ipad time for any curious spider research, as well as a
spider craft or two. If you would like
to send in anything spider related for snacks we would LOVE that!
·
LOOking for a ballot box! If you would be interested in decorating
a shoe box or small box for students to place their ballots into as we vote for
president please message me!
·
JOG-A-THON results are in…. WE WON THE PARTICIPATION AWARD! Our
class had the most participation, way to go! A pizza party hosted by PTO will
happen within the next few weeks. Thank you students and families for your
donations as we helped raise over 11,000 as a school. Our class collected just
under $900!!! WOW!

Next
Week:
Literature
Monday
we will be reading Anansi. The rest of the week we will be reading “Lemonade
For Sale”, a 2nd grade favorite! Our reading strategies will consist
of comprehension, problem and solution, and critical thinking through writing.
Math
We
will be finishing up our base ten unit. I see so much growth as we understand
how to interpret and represent numbers in various ways. We have been counting
up to 1,000, comparing numbers, and using many different strategies to show our
thinking. We will be taking our Module 3 assessment on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Science
Continuing
with states of matter as we explore liquids!
Social
Studies
We have been enjoying
our election unit, started with a constitution reading, we made a timeline, and
next week we will start to read about the political parties. We are sharing
thoughts that are truthful and respectful as we make our way closer
