Parent Volunteers
THANK YOU PARENTS! We look forward to seeing you next week.  We appreciate you time :]

Arrivals
I cannot stress how important it is for scholars to arrive on time.  We have specials at 7:55, students are expected to arrive by 7:50.  We are only left with 5 minutes to review our day, listen to the morning announcements, and take attendance.  I love to start our day together and on time.

Math
The students have been actively working on the understanding of number forms and fundamentals with 2 digit numbers.  We have been using our math tools, place value mats, and Khan academy to get a lot of hands on time and activities.  Many conversations took place explaining that 2 digit numbers are made from tens and ones such as 34 is made of 3 tens and 4 ones.  Next week we will review our place value positions and start with addition of 2 digits numbers!

Science
Scholars will be reading about volcanoes and geysers! Such a fun and fascinating wonder!  On Monday there will be an optional enrichment activity that your child may complete if they are interested.  The optional assignment will be composed of a lab, reflection, and final project display using a poster board.  I am giving enough guidance for completion, but would like to leave a little up to creativity!

Literature
Creepy, crawly spiders! We will be incorporating a week of non-fiction spider reading! Working specifically on labeling, definitions, and facts. Our monthly poem will also be reviewed through out the week.

History
Continuing on with the Mayan civilization and the various temple structures.  An assessment will take place at the end of the unit.
