- Our Monthly Poem: Table manners. A colored copied was sent home earlier this

workbooks and text books. They will receive the new ones on Monday.

graph. If you can donate one or a few of each item it would be
helpful!

-marbles
-coins (we can sort by year or amount or color!)
-buttons
-keys
-any other small objects that can be compared by shape, size, color, or material (mystery objects might be pretty fun!)

- We will be celebrating traditions from around the world
prior to the holiday break. A few craft
items will be needed. I would also like
to provide the students will food from the countries we travel to. A sign up
genius will be created next week. If you
have the means to help, donate, or cook, it is GREATLY appreciated. I look
forward to this time of year each and every year! SO much to celebrate and
study :]
What’s coming up…
Math
Next week the students
will be working on 2 concepts, comparing using subtraction and interpreting,
creating, and sorting data. We are
asking for a few items (above) to work with, if you can send anything in please
do. The students will be assessed on
both skills throughout the week. I am
also looking for 2 volunteers to run math groups; I have 2 activities planned that
require some hands on help. Math groups
are from about 9:55-11:10. If you would
like to come help, please send me an email, we would be happy to have you!
Science
GEOLOGY ROCKS! Onto Earth layers and minerals. Students will discover that Earth is composed
of layers, they will also learn about what each layer is composed of. We will finished the week with an
introduction to minerals including a mineral cookie dig activity.
Literature
We will complete the
last chapter in Frog and Toad All Year. Students will be making seasonal/
chapter main idea and details poster based upon events from the book. There will also be a comprehension assessment
to check for understanding.
History
We will continue onto
our last world religion, Islam. The
students will be learning about the 5 pillars, Islamic symbols, and details to
praying rituals. Everyone has been extremely respectful when learning and
sharing ideas and thoughts about our religious studies, it has been very much appreciated.
