Week 1 Update

WOW!!!! What a fabulous first week in first grade! I have enjoyed every minute of our new routines and getting to know all of our classmates! I have seen displays of hard work, respect, kind acts, and LOTS of smiles! Here are a few reminders:

·      I will soon be sending an email with directions on how to subscribe to the classroom blog.  This subscription will allow you to receive updates when I post.

·      THANK YOU!!!! For all the “Giving Tree” goodies.  Your kindness was felt and appreciated.

·      I have received a few volunteer forms (yay!) If you would like to volunteer please send the form in on Monday. The form was attached to your “Welcome to our Nest” packet.  We LOVE parent helpers!

·      I will be posting our schedule to the blog next week so parents are aware of subject times, recess, and lunch.

·      I think Thursday was the most successful transportation day.  I appreciate the emails for changes! As of now I have an updated list with any changes, otherwise I will follow the dismissal time from the form on meet the teacher night.  I would like to thank you for your patience!

·      Next week we will be sending home the Singapore math workbook to use on homework assignments.  The assignments will be written in their agendas, please only complete the pages assigned.  It is extremely important that the workbooks come back to school every day, we will be using them from time to time during class.  If the book does not get returned to school the student will not be able to complete the in class work.

·      I am sorry to miss you at our back to school social tomorrow (Friday from 4:30-6) but look forward to many other opportunities to get to know you and your families!
