Congrats to Jose for earning our Organization Core Value Award! His
work is always done with such pride. I am able to easily read his organized
work, he puts things back where they belong, and is helpful when organizing
class items. This skill is one that makes the days all the more efficient and
smooth. Thank you Jose for being an organized role model!

Our Core Value for the month of February will be INTEGRITY. We show actions of complete honesty even when
no one else knows the truth but us. This
is a valuable trait that all children and adults should carry as we live and
work together. I hope to see a little
integrity in us all this month!
·
I have sent out our conference schedule on Dojo. Please review, most
are scheduled the same time as the fall conference. I look forward to seeing
you all then as we talk about the progress made this year.
·
We will be exchanging Valentine cards. Students need to only fill
out the “front” area of that Valentine.
There are 25 students in our class. Valentines will be delivered during
our class party. We could use Valentine
stickers, doilies, and other items to decorate their bags that they will carry
home their Valentines. Please send in
decorating items in by the 8th.
·
WOW! We had the impressive 92% spirit count average. This was great
to see, thank you all for the Franklin pride!
·
The “What I Love About You” project hearts are being sent home
today. I look forward to seeing all the love found within your family. Directions
as well as the due date are attached to the paper hearts.
·
Looking for more wire hangers, please send in for our project in a
few weeks!

A look at next week…
Spalding
We
continue to work in our Spalding notebooks. As we write and mark we are working
on letter formations as well as consistent handwriting, ensuring that our books
are uniform and neat. Please be sure the books come to and from school daily.
As we read and write in class we are taking the time to recognize and implement
our phonograms. Room 19 will be full of
strong readers and writers by the year end!
Reading
Next
week we will be reading an informational text as we focus on definition work,
main idea and details, as well as hunting for facts. Our informational text will be about insects.
We might be seeing these creatures coming out as spring approaches.
Math
Creating
and analyzing graphs has been fun! Our next unit will be measurement, next week
specifically focusing on measuring using non-standard and standard units in
inches and centimeters.
Social
Studies
Onto
the next ancient studies unit of Mesopotamia.
Science
We
have kicked off our ecosystems unit with the study of the desert this past
week. We will be reading and writing about the forest habitat next.
Stay
dry this weekend,
Ms. Reger
